This edition of Explore Festival is about the people who organise the parties in this world, and about those who are not invited. The makers do not let the rulers talk, but give a voice to those in the margins, to those who are excluded and oppressed. People who are claiming their place in this world and in the history of the world, or those who are literally looking for a place and a group to call home. What do we gain from their view on our reality? How do their stories impact our view of Western identity and history? And how can we interpret these new narratives in view of existing structures of power being overturned in many regions worldwide? Participants include Germaine Acogny, Salia Sanou, and Dr. Margriet de Waal, Katrien Gottlieb (Chief editor 360 Magazine), session chaired by Domenica Ghidei.
The talk takes place after the performance of Du Désir d’Horizons by Burkinabe choreographer Salia Sanou at Theater Rotterdam on Tuesday 19 March. Everybody is welcome at the panel discussion: both members of the audience who attended the performance and others who are interested in the talk.
